Psalm 115:1-3 “Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake. Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God? But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased”.
This might not be for everyone, but yet still I believe that everybody has a story; I’m just not sure if this might apply to you. But have you ever come into that place in your life where you face your mortality: the state of being subject to death? You look at your body and it is wasting away and you know that it’s just a matter of time before your life on this earth is no more?
Or have you been in that place where you don’t know whether you will have a roof over your head tomorrow or the next day; it doesn’t look too promising with your store basket; that is almost down to nothing. You look around at your circumstances and you just start to talk to yourself and say, “I wish that creditor will call and ask for their money, I’d tell them a thing or two about lack”, when in your mind you know you just want to conversate with someone.
You ever been in that place where everything is so down, and your mind ought to be in that place of doom as well, because you have just about told so many people about the “God” you serve and the wonderful things He is capable of and now when you need that testimony so that folks don’t look down on you and ask you, “welllll, where your God now”? God waiting to see if you going to give up on Him as well.
You feel in yourself you don’t want to be tested to that limit, but it keeps coming and coming and coming, from all direction. In spite of it all, you just might cry out like Esther, “If i perish I perish”. For it is in this situation, that what is within me will come out. You know there isn’t much time with finance, life, food, living; but you whisper, “God if this is how it will end in this world, let not me, but you receive ALL the glory”.
You whisper and keep on whispering, “not my will but thy will be done”. Your whisper turns into a song, “God you have been faithful through it all, and I choose to believe you for who you are; God great is thy faithfulness to me, because I everyday is a day to hope; God if you choose to allow my situation, I will not complain, because of who you are; God should a man expect good from you all the days of our wretched lives and not bad at some point in our lives; God, though they slay me, yet still I will trust you”. My God, my God, my God, I will wait until my change comes about.
Lord you have been good to me. Great is thy faithfulness.
