Psalm 142:4-6 “I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living. Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I”.
We exist in this world and many of us are married, have kids, great friendships at the best of time; yet in the midst of a deep storm of Cat 5 proportions where every current, wind decide to conspire with hell to bring about misery in your life, each of these marvelous people appears oblivious to the pain and trauma you are undergoing. There is not an earthly refuge for you to turn to in order to receive solace.
Emotionally, psychologically, spiritually you seemed drained and wish desperately that there was someone to turn and regain your equilibrium. You remember that special friend you have, who speaks so softly you have to be quiet to hear Him. You remember that in earlier situations He came to your rescue and did wonderful things in your storm and you wonder if His doors are still open.
It cannot hurt to try; so you release the hot, burning tears within you and cry out your story with the mindset, if He answers, that’s great, but I think He might have forgotten me by now, I have been so delinquent in talking to Him of late.
Wonder of wonders: He not only heard your cries, He answered in a most marvelous way.I wondered why I had stopped corresponding to Him previously; I recognized I was the one who had taken Him for granted and treated Him shabbily, yet in all that time, He had not forgotten me.
Beloved, don’t wait until the storm to remember that you have a friend in Jesus; He desires to be our best friend in this walk we are undergoing.
Trivia: This dude is a riot; he told God, “you tricked me: you are only winning this fight because you are bigger than I am”.
