Psalm 4:6-8 “There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety”.
You might be one of those who are probably saying the very same thing, “who will shew me any good”? Time has passed by very quickly, the years are increasing, the grey in your hair becomes more pronounced, your body might not be as young as it once appeared and you still are waiting.
Yes waiting for that special opportunity, for that business you have desired for years, for that child you never could conceive, that husband or wife which always seem to elude you; You are waiting for your BREAK. But it never appears to be your time. They have prophesied good things to you, over your head and life; you get good dreams and visions about things that ought to come to pass and still you are waiting.
Today, can I get someone to speak clearly, lowly, humble before their Lord, beseech Him: Lord, let me not be ashamed, let me not wait in vain for your truth to be manifested in my life; let not my prayers, my private conversations with you, my earnest desires of you be in vain. Let my cries come to your holy mountain, Oh Lord of my youth. Lead me not in a vain path, because I have trusted in your promises.
Father, even as I retire from my youth, let the days ahead of me be prosperous, different, fragrant with your presence; filled with a desire only you can fulfill. Lord let me have the peace of not asking, but of being satisfied with everything you give. Lord, help me to appreciate ALL you have given, and not miss that which I seek. Let me be full of YOU. Give me you Lord and I shall be at perfect peace with myself.
Tamar. With Judah, Er and Onan.
You are so right…
