Who you gave your heart, has your blessings!!

By VWoods

Have the blessings in your life gone missing? Who you gave your heart, has your blessings!!

Song by Elisha A. Hoffman

Is your all on the altar of sacrifice laid?
Your heart does the Spirit control?
You can only be blest,
And have peace and sweet rest,
As you yield Him your body and soul.

I remember when I had just given my life to God and was renewed into the body of Christ, I felt as if I had a magic wand in my hand.  The things I thought about that I needed came to pass with very little hiccup; at times, before I could verbalize what I needed to anyone, an opportunity to receive it would be granted to me.

I once got up one morning to prepare lunch for work; the Spirit of the Lord whispered, “I am taking you to lunch today, do not prepare anything”. I lived in anticipation until the lunch hour; to confirm that somehow, God would be paying for my lunch I invited a friend, just for confirmation. I didn’t know how it was going to happen, but I was standing on the Word I got that morning that God was taking me to lunch.

At lunch time when I went visited a restaurant and the manager came up to me and said that my lunch was paid for, I didn’t question it, I just shouted “Hallelujah” in front of everyone. God is relational and He invites us into relationships with Him, interactions with Him. He isn’t at a distance, where we have to fight to make an appointment with Him.  But if this is the case, why are our instances of miracles and outstanding testimonies so hard to come by?

The freshness of our ears, eyes and heart to the whispers of the Holy Spirit, needs to get sharper as we progress in this relationship. Instead our memories and testimonies are of things which happened years ago.  We allow the things in our previous lives to creep in and present hindrances to what He has for us, we can’t press forward, but continuously look behind at what was, but scripture warns us to renew our minds, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2 KJV); we want to bring the old habits with us into this new relationship with God and He is not having that: His name is jealous. So we pay the price by losing out on the deeper walk He wants to introduce us to.

Aren’t you tired of losing out on good things in your life; the prophesies which are yet still to come to pass; the endeavors you know have been planted within you, yet at this point in your life, looks like a distant dream. What if you aren’t doing your part, what if you are holding out on God? Have you given Him all of you so that He can take you to the potter’s barn and complete your process?

Your resistance to change will reflect negatively on what can be accomplished in your life by God.  Beloved, let the revelations run; submit to the positive words spoken over your life, allow the destiny you were born to accomplish, be done. Give your heart to Him, let the Holy Spirit do the steering, let Him drive; allow Him to take over. I know you have done it all your life, but the time for change is now.

Who has your heart, your soul, your body? One song writer said, “You can only be blest, And have peace and sweet rest, As you yield Him your body and soul” (Elisha A. Hoffman). Do it now; let your soul, your mind, your body, be in agreement with God. Allow Him to finish what He has started in your life, because greatness is ahead of you.

That’s the only time you will truly experience peace of mind, body and soul; when you completely yield to Jesus.
