Memo to the Broken, Wounded and Weary in Mind, Body and Spirit
Although the mind is willing, there are times when the body, mind, spirit and soul can become weary. It can be a prolonged occurrence at times, yet sometimes it creeps up on you; that place you get to when you know within yourself that you have given a specific task your all. You signed on to the body of Christ and no one had zeal to compare to you; but now, the pressure applied to your spiritual and mental psyche has reached the point that you cannot contain any longer.
You have dealt with the cares of life in your personal life struggles in addition to what is conspired against you in the body of Christ, where you were once embraced, you now face unseemly attacks which leave you feeling drained and your heart palpitating.
You are tired: Tiredness which goes beyond working a double shift on any job and waiting around to get appropriate coverage before leaving the job place; a tiredness which goes beyond pushing out all you have for ministry, and being beaten up with words or actions for your thoughts or method of accomplishing the job; tiredness of slaving behind kids who does not appreciate you as young ones and turn their backs on you when they come into their own as adults, yes weariness.
You don’t understand the word “Appreciation” any longer, it is a word not assigned to your attempts, but the actions of ridicule and attacks you are now familiar. You pray and fast for an interceptor to come from the husband of the bride, but instead of letting up, the debilitating critique of failure dogs you. You know that you are weary, broken and although you heard and have read in the Word, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 KJV), you wonder if this rest is to be attained in this world or maybe you will attain it in the perpetual rest where, “…it is appointed unto men once to die…” (Hebrews 9:27 KJV); you need someone to reassure you that your labor has not been in vain and that there will be a place of quiet rest for restoration.
You that are in this predicament; you who have toiled and labored relentlessly, and have not found a place of quiet rest, hear the word of the Lord; God has spoken, he has issued a decree on your behalf: He will come to save you. He sees your struggles, he sees your pain at being unappreciated and no longer fitting in where you once belonged, He sees the words being spoken against you, He sees the gossip and backbiting behind your back; He sees the tearing and breaking down of your defenses. Beloved, I am your Father and I see your tears.
I see that you have done what you did through an altruistic mind; no thoughts of repayment or promotion; your intention was to give a helping hand to my bride; they have misconstrued every action you have put forth, they have tried to undermine your efforts and belittle your self-esteem.
My child, fear not, I know you are weary; I see your pain, I feel your trauma and fears of defeat, but I have come to save you. I have sent forth my angels; I have instructed them not to leave the wounded soldier on the battlefield. My directions are for them to hold you and carry you in their arms until you have been restored, until the wounds are washed and healed, until all the bruises have faded, until your flesh have accomplished the creaminess of youth once again.
Until your spirit laughs and is in agreement with my spirit, they are instructed to carry you. Although you walk, my angels are lifting you up; I will not let you go. My angels will dwell and abide with you to comfort you, they will not abandon you, and they will not betray you. My son, my daughter, I want to reassure you that you will start to smile again because, “when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live” (Ezekiel 16:6 KJV). Yes, you who are broken-hearted, wounded, weary, LIVE!!! For I the Lord have declared it.
