Daily Inspiration – Psalm 51:10-12 (KJV)

Psalm 51:10-12
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit”.
The thing which seals our profession of belief is the Spirit of God; and when we sin or are in breach relationship wise with God, we grieve His Spirit.  If our consciences are tender, when we trespass against God, it pains us; our heart hurts; our bodily operations are out of sync and we feel ungainly.
King David knew this fact, so as the sin was so heavy upon him, the he feared the most was disfavor from God; David had a relationship with the Spirit of God and it was Him who he spent all those hours with in the fields while shepherding the sheep.  In his period of sin, instead of fearing for his life or discovery of the sin, he feared that the Spirit of God would depart from him.
This caused him to cry out to God, “renew a right spirit within….take not thy Holy Spirit away from me”…I believe some of you know what I am talking about; it doesn’t matter the sin, but when you have crossed the line and have compromised your behavior and your insides starts to churn, you sleep fitfully and your thought processes become disjointed: maybe it is time to cry out to God.
We are sealed by the blood of Jesus and the Spirit of God. Don’t let him leave you.
Trivia: She slept with a father and his two sons.  Who was she?
